Lebensmittelknappheit

DEU

Food Shortage

Following is a literal translation of the pictured cards. Dieter had written them in form of poems; to be able to precisely translate the content, the rhyme form is lost unfortunately.

"Soon, there was no unskimmed milk any more,
Skimmed milk now is praised a lot.
The papers compete in writing
how good the milk is without fat."

"Until one was used to the number of post cards,
you laughed about yourself.
Because of all the cards, one forgot about the money,
so that at the end of the week
you might also be be short on post cards."

Wieder Musik gemacht. Nachmittags fahre ich mit Krohn nach Stolberg und mache Besorgungen.

Played music again. In the afternoon, Kron and me drive to Stolberg to buy some things.
